By accepting our quotation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions, along with the accepted quotation, form the entire agreement between you (the client) and Burridge Electrical.
If you have any questions or require clarification on any part of these Terms and Conditions, you must contact us before accepting the quotation or proceeding with any work.
a) All electrical installation work complies with BS7671 and applicable amendments.
b) Work adheres to current Building Regulations in force at the time of the project.
c) Costs assume the existing installation meets regulations. Additional costs apply for upgrades required to meet standards.
d) Cables will be concealed where practicable. Surface-mounted cables will be housed in trunking/conduits if necessary.
e) Best efforts are made to avoid damage to flooring and carpets during concealed installation. Specialist fitting may be required at your cost for full reinstatement.
f) Chase work will be refilled to 2mm below finish depth if its mentioned in the quotation. Final plastering and decoration are excluded unless specified.
g) We endeavor to maintain a clean work environment using dust sheets and vacuum equipment.
h) Clients must provide access to water and power at no cost during installation.
a) Clearing and/or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas is not included in the quoted costs. Customers must ensure the area is cleared prior to the commencement of work. If additional assistance is required, this must be agreed upon in writing and may incur additional charges.
b) Except where explicitly detailed in the quotation, builders' work (e.g., creating holes larger than 50mm in diameter, constructing support structures, or making structural alterations) is not included, except as outlined in the installation section above.
c) Re-decoration and final making good (e.g., painting, wallpapering, or plaster skimming) are excluded from quoted costs unless specifically stated in writing as included.
d) Removal and disposal of rubble, fittings, wiring, materials, general waste, and packaging is not included unless explicitly agreed in writing. Customers may need to arrange waste removal services or request this as an additional service for an agreed fee.
e) Re-laying of loft insulation and carpets is not included in the scope of work. Customers are advised to make arrangements with a professional fitter if required.
f) Burridge Electrical accepts no liability for faults, damages, or warranty claims on any electrical items supplied by you (the customer). Items supplied by customers are installed on a goodwill basis, and any issues must be directed to the original supplier or manufacturer.
g) Any defects in the installation or materials supplied by Burridge Electrical must be reported immediately upon discovery. Customers must not tamper with, open, or investigate defects themselves or permit third parties to do so. If this occurs, any warranties provided by Burridge Electrical may become void, and a call-out charge may be applied for further investigation or repairs.
All services provided comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We ensure that:
Burridge Electrical shall not be held liable for delays or failure to fulfill obligations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, labor disputes, or supply chain disruptions.
Our electricians are fully certified and trained in accordance with industry standards, including compliance with BS7671. We regularly update our training to ensure compliance with the latest regulations and best practices.
a) Risk for goods passes to the client upon delivery.
b) Ownership remains with Burridge Electrical until payment is received in full.
c) The client must ensure adequate insurance coverage for the property during installation.
a) Payment in full is required upon completion of the specified works unless agreed otherwise in writing.
b) A 20% - 50% deposit may be requested to secure bookings.
c) Stage payments may be required for projects lasting more than 10 days.
d) Late payments may incur additional charges as permitted by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
e) Non-payment after the invoice due date will result in further action, including debt recovery services or filing a claim with the Small Claims Court. Additional recovery fees may apply.
a) Payment must be made in full before issuing reports, regardless of findings.
b) Limitations (e.g., inaccessible sockets) will be recorded in the report.
c) Access must be provided to all electrical accessories during the inspection.
d) Photographs may be taken for record-keeping purposes while avoiding personal or identifiable details.
e) If the property is inaccessible during a scheduled inspection, additional costs may apply to cover time and rescheduling.
f) Burridge Electrical reserves the right to notify the local council or relevant authorities of non-compliance, unsafe installations, or improper use if these issues pose a serious safety risk, as required by law.
All fire and smoke detection installations and testing comply with BS5839-1 (commercial systems) and BS5839-6 (domestic systems) standards, as applicable under English law and Building Regulations.
